Writing is everywhere. No surprises there. And while many artistic forms are still considered disciplines for specialists, writing is truly a skill of the masses: a grocery list here, a business meeting email there, eight sexy text messages during a lunch break, a depressive cry for help to the blogosphere before bed. Between word processing, cell phones, web 2.0, and magnetic poetry, everybody is a writer. So what makes me a Writer with a capital double-u?

Two things: the composition of original ideas, and the choice to express them in writing.
Writing is a vehicle for expression, no different than digital print art, photography, music, filmmaking, design, and all the rest. A Writer must have original ideas to communicate and the technical proficiency to share them. And I knew that writing was my passion when the unconquerable insistence of my ideas to be expressed drove the development of my proficiency to express them.

This HAASTYLE collection is the manifestation of my passion for writing. It contains writing
pieces that are quite comprehensive, intending to appeal to a broad audience. The goal is a writing canon that provokes head scratching, tear streaming, knee slapping, and beard stroking. And ultimately a connection, the purely human connection that forms by engaging another person with your ideas. Because the ideas mean nothing if no one reads them. So thank you.
